A Workshop by Prof. Derica Lambrechts , Lou Osborn , Martin Davenas , Dr Alexandre Bish , Tuesday Reitano and Rumbidzai Matamba

About this Workshop

This is part one of two skills-based modules designed to equip participants with the essential tools for designing a research study on organised crime, conducting desk research, critically reviewing literary texts and scholarly literature, and undertaking field research. The module will also discuss what OSINT is and why it is relevant when conducting research. The aim of the module is to understand both the basics of crime research and the unique considerations when studying criminal organisations. Participants are expected to develop confidence in navigating different research sources and materials, interpreting texts and data within their historical and theoretical contexts, and constructing informed, analytical responses.
