Lesson 5: The Fundamentals of the Study of Organised Crime (Skills-based module A)

A Workshop by Tuesday Reitano and Rumbidzai Matamba

About this Workshop

This is part one of two skills-based modules designed to equip participants with the essential tools for designing a research study on organised crime, conducting desk research and critically reviewing literary texts and scholarly literature, and undertaking field research. The aim of the module is to understand both the basics of crime research and the unique considerations when studying criminal organisations. Participants are expected to develop confidence in navigating different research sources and materials, interpreting texts within their historical and theoretical contexts, and constructing informed, analytical responses.
